Plagiarism Policy

All submitted manuscripts must be free of any plagiarized content. To prevent plagiarism, all articles will undergo an originality check before publication using iThenticate or Turnitin, with a maximum similarity threshold of 20%. Authors are encouraged to check their manuscripts for similarity using plagiarism detection tools (preferably Turnitin or iThenticate) prior to submission. Editors will also verify the similarity of submitted manuscripts with these tools.

Note for Authors

Journal of Geosciences and Environmental Studies evaluates each case of plagiarism on an individual basis. If any instance of plagiarism is detected—whether by editors, peer reviewers, or editorial staff—at any stage prior to publication (including during editing or the page proofing process), the author will be notified and asked to revise the text, appropriately paraphrase, or provide proper citations to the original source. If plagiarism is substantial, meaning that at least 20% of the submission is plagiarized, the article may be rejected, and the author’s affiliated institution or organization may be informed. Therefore, we strongly recommend authors thoroughly review and verify their manuscripts for originality before submitting them to our journal. We advise authors to use a "Plagiarism Checker Software" to scan for plagiarism as a preliminary step, understanding that while helpful, these tools may not be entirely comprehensive.

Plagiarism Declaration

Each author submitting to Journal of Geosciences and Environmental Studies must complete and submit a plagiarism-free statement. This document should be uploaded as an additional file during submission through the Open Journal System.
