Author Guidelines

All manuscripts submitted to this journal must be written in clear, fluent English. Authors whose native language is not English are encouraged to have their manuscripts reviewed for grammar and clarity before submission. We recommend using the DeepL application for initial translation, followed by Grammarly to refine grammar and coherence. This two-step process will help ensure high language quality before the manuscript undergoes peer review. Please note that the Journal of Geosciences and Environmental Studies accepts only original manuscripts. We do not consider submissions from authors involved in multiple submissions of the same work.

General Guidelines for Manuscript Text:

  1. Originality: Manuscripts must present original research and not have been published or submitted elsewhere. They should follow the provided article template.
  2. Formatting: Manuscripts should be prepared on A4-sized paper (210 x 297 mm), with the following custom margins: left 25 mm, right 20 mm, top 30 mm, and bottom 20 mm. Use Palatino Linotype font, 12pt size, and single line-spacing.
  3. Length: Manuscripts should be between 6,000 and 7,000 words, including figures, tables, and references.
  4. Components: The manuscript should include:
    • Title of the article
    • Author’s name (no academic titles)
    • Affiliated institution’s address
    • Author’s email address
    • Abstract and keywords
    • Main sections: Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, References.
  5. Plagiarism: Manuscripts will be checked for plagiarism using specialized software. Any detected plagiarism will result in immediate rejection.

Detailed Guidelines for Each Section:

  • Title: Should be informative, concise, and avoid multiple interpretations. The title must reflect the main topic and contain no unusual abbreviations. Write it in bold, capitalized initial letters, 18pt size, and within 12 words.

  • Abstract: Maximum of 250 words, including research objectives, methodology, results, conclusion, and (optional) limitations. Follow with 3-5 keywords in alphabetical order. Use Palatino Linotype, 9pt size, single-spaced.

  • Introduction: Should provide a general background, literature review (state of the art), research questions, and objectives. Conclude with a clear statement of the article’s purpose and contribution to knowledge.

  • Methodology: Describe the research design, data collection methods, research instruments, and analysis techniques. This section should be written in narrative form.

  • Results and Discussion: Present research findings supported by data, with discussion addressing the research question or hypothesis posed in the Introduction.

  • Conclusion: Summarize findings, highlight limitations, and make recommendations. Conclusions should go beyond a summary and address the research’s contribution to knowledge. Include any limitations and suggestions for future research.

  • References: Include all sources cited, with at least 80% of references from primary sources (e.g., peer-reviewed journals) published within the last 5 years. Each article should contain at least ten references.

Citation and Reference Guidelines:

All citations must reference original sources and use APA 7th Edition formatting. Reference management software such as Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero is recommended to ensure accuracy and consistency.
