Analisis Semiotika Film 'Mother' tentang Toxic Parents

Abstrak: Studi ini mengeksplorasi penggambaran pola asuh toksik dalam film "Mother" tahun 2020 menggunakan analisis semiotik Charles Sanders Peirce. Menggunakan metodologi kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini berfokus pada potongan adegan yang menggambarkan perilaku toksik melalui model triadik Peirce yang mencakup Tanda, Objek, dan Interpretan. Temuan menunjukkan potret multifaset dari keberacunan maternal: Akiko, sang ibu, tidak berhasil memberikan perlindungan dasar dan bimbingan pendidikan, memanipulasi putranya Shuhei untuk tujuan egois, dan menjadikannya subjek dari pelecehan non-verbal dan fisik. Aksi-aksi ini mencerminkan narasi yang lebih luas tentang kontrol dan manipulasi, menyoroti dampak buruk terhadap otonomi dan kesejahteraan Shuhei. Studi ini menekankan perlunya kesadaran yang lebih besar terhadap perilaku pengasuhan toksik dalam representasi media, menyarankan implikasi untuk penelitian psikologi dan persepsi masyarakat terhadap peran orang tua.
