Abstract

Studi ini meneliti peran meme sebagai alat komunikasi media digital, terutama fokus pada penggunaannya dalam menyampaikan pesan satir dan kritik. Dengan menggunakan metodologi kualitatif, kami menganalisis meme dari akun Twitter @memefess menggunakan model semiotik Peirce untuk mendekode makna dan pesan yang terkandung di dalamnya. Temuan kami mengungkapkan bahwa meme berfungsi sebagai platform untuk ekspresi kreatif dan beragam kritik, yang mendapat resonansi dari netizen karena sejalan dengan sentimen sosio-budaya yang berlaku. Artefak digital ini tidak hanya memfasilitasi penyebaran informasi secara cepat tetapi juga menyoroti garis tipis antara humor dan kontroversi, menekankan potensi meme untuk secara tidak sengaja menargetkan atau memarginalkan kelompok tertentu. Studi ini berkontribusi pada pemahaman kita tentang dinamika komunikasi digital dan dampak ganda meme dalam wacana modern.
